Frequently Asked Questions
How do I track aircraft maintenance digitally?
Sky Duty lets you log squawks, track inspection intervals, and maintain a full maintenance history per aircraft. It auto-populates FAA cert expirations and sends countdown alerts before inspections come due.
What is a squawk in aviation?
A squawk is a reported mechanical discrepancy or issue with an aircraft. Pilots report squawks during or after flight, and mechanics resolve them before the aircraft returns to service.
How often does an aircraft need an annual inspection?
Under 14 CFR 91.409, most general aviation aircraft require an annual inspection every 12 calendar months. Aircraft used for hire also require 100-hour inspections.
What is a 100-hour inspection?
A 100-hour inspection is required for aircraft used for hire or flight instruction under Part 91. It covers the same items as an annual inspection and must be completed every 100 hours of time in service.
